Healing Towards Wholeheartedness
Gavriele Greenwald Counseling is a private therapy practice focused on walking alongside clients as they process traumas, grief, family-of-origin issues, military life, and more through practices such as person-centered, narrative, cognitive behavioral therapy, and lifespan integration.
The passion of my practice is rooted in the belief that YOU are the navigator of your own journey. My role as a counselor is in creating a safe space in which healing and growth may take place.

Individual Therapy
A one-on-one joint process between you and I. There may be many reasons to seek this kind of therapy, the most common may be to inspire change or improve quality of life. People seek individual therapy for help with issues that are hard to face alone and that is where I come in.Individual therapy can help people overcome obstacles for their well-being. It has the potential to increase positive feelings like compassion and self-esteem. People in therapy can learn skills for handling difficult situations, making healthy decisions, and reaching goals. Many find the therapeutic journey of becoming more self-aware fulfilling. Some people even go to ongoing therapy for self-growth.

Couples Therapy
A form of therapy that focuses on partners in an intimate relationship and the mental and emotional health of the individuals. Couples counseling, also known as marriage counseling, relationship counseling, or couples therapy, can be beneficial for partners considering separation or seeking improved intimacy and understanding. While the relationship itself is the main focus in couples counseling, the individual partner takes an important role. Each partner is given the opportunity to focus on one another as well as time for self-improvement and self-awareness.

It is my passion to walk alongside people as they engage in their story and their own healing. The journey that people find themselves on is one worth exploring and diving into. Your story matters, and I believe has purpose and meaning.
Prior to settling down in Whatcom County, I found a sense of home and community in the military base, something new to me due to my family moving around so often.
Environments, like that of military bases, do an amazing job of creating a small sense of home amidst new places where everyone is a transplant. It was something I hadn’t experienced anywhere else, and it was this sense of home, belonging and connection that stirred my passion for working in the field of counseling and therapy.
In 2018 I received my M.A. in Counseling. Since then I’ve concentrated most of my time in working within residential settings, community mental health, families, adults, teens, homeless shelters, and crisis work.
“Those who have a strong sense of love and belonging have the courage to be imperfect.” – Brené Brown
My Therapy Techniques
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an approach that helps you break down your thoughts and distortions in the way you think to have a more clear and aware thought process to help change behavior.
Lifespan Integration
Lifespan Integration is an approach that is sensitive to your trauma and addresses it gently. It’s not invasive. With its gentle approach, you are able to reprocess your trauma and it will actually help you to rewire the connections in your brain.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy helps you to explore who you are within your story and how you want that to be moving forward. It helps you to identify your beliefs and value system to help you navigate future scenarios with intentionality and awareness. It also helps you to re-narrate your past.
Person-Centered Counseling
Person-centered counseling is an approach acknowledging that you are the expert on your own story and that you have the answers internally. Therapy helps you to navigate and explore these answers of self-discovery.
